About Bombay Rockers
Bombay Rockers is one of the most successful Danish Music Export acts of all time. Their trademark is mixing English and Indian vocals in a fusion of R&B, pop, hip hop and Bhangra music. The duo consists of Navtej Singh Rahel (27) and Thomas Sardorf (27), started up in summer 2003, and from then on things started happening fast. Their debut concert was at Rockilde Festival in front of 25,000 people. They had a major hit and breakthrough with the single Rock the Party in 2004.
Rock The Party
The track was featured on compilation reaching a combined sale of over 1 million copies. Their debut album Introducing was released in over 32 countries worldwide in 2005 and especially in India they enjoyed great success. Nr 1 for 12 weeks straight and the album went multi platinum selling over 150,000 copies and worldwide 400,000copies. Other hits like Sexy Mama, Wild Rose and Ari Ari secured them a super star in Asia and Middle East.

My memories and Bombay Rockers
The intro above is all I could find about my favorite mixed Punjabi band, as they are a balanced mix of R&B, hip hop, English and bhangra.
My memories of Bombay Rockers go back to early 2005, days I was budding in love. The track Rock the Party was the first song I heard in the car when I met Him *blush blush*. The words went like… ‘teri to, teri ta, hamesha yaad satave,’ meaning I always miss you. The words meant much more to me. To me the song sang words meaning you were the one my hart has always been missing, today I found you so let’s rock the party.
Ari Ari
Ever since I can’t miss a day without listening to the song Rock the Party. The magic of the song craved an interest in other songs by Bombay Rockers and I just seem to love every single track. The music is good the lyrics are so mushy and romantic. The balance of English and Punjabi is just perfect. As He is a Punjabi I have a special interest in Punjabi and the songs are an amazing blend and understandable.
Wild Rose
Later I discovered that His fav track was Ari Ari. How amazing we like the same band and have same taste in music.
I am yet to see Bombay Rockers in person and be at one of their concerts. Soon I’ll have an autograph from Bombay Rockers and will share it with you all.
